Hoya 'Wibergiae Round Leaf' (DMW-001-C)
While traditional Hoya wibergiae (now taxonomically placed within the broader verticillata complex) is prized for its splash-heavy lanceolate leaves, the 'Round Leaf' clone (DMW-001-C) introduces an adorable, broadly ovate-to-circular leaf morphology. The leaves emerge firm, juicy, and heavily speckled with metallic silver blisters. When given generous illumination, anthocyanin pigments activate rapidly, turning the silver flecks into a striking constellation of bright pink. Fully settled and grown on our benches in our signature coarse precision substrate, this specimen arrives sturdy, well-rooted, and actively pushing new leads.
Foliage: Thick, succulent, distinctly rounded green leaves generously frosted with silver splash that turns vivid pink under high light.
Growth Habit: Energetic twining climbing or trailing vine; performs brilliantly trained on a circular hoop trellis or cascading from a small pot.
Blooms: Umbels of waxy, fuzzy, pale pink to white star-shaped flowers with darker pink-to-purple center coronas and a light, sweet perfume.
Light: Bright, filtered indirect light; strong lighting is essential to trigger and hold its brilliant pink splash coloration.
Substrate: Potted in our signature Hoyaland Precision Mix (Kiwi bark, tree fern fibre, pumice, Akadama, and sphagnum) for rapid drainage and optimal root aeration.
Water: Allow the top 50–60% of the substrate to dry between thorough waterings; thick, succulent leaves provide excellent forgiveness.
1-of-1 Guarantee: The plant pictured is the exact specimen you will receive.
