Why You’ll Love It

• Iconic 'Teddy Bear' Blooms: Famous across the collector community for producing remarkably furry, plush blossoms with dense pubescence that truly resemble a fuzzy teddy bear.

• Distinct Sculpted Venation: Foliage features a rigid, leathery leaf lamina patterned with prominent, contrasting darker primary and secondary veins.

• Queensland Grown: Established locally in our precision substrate to support a smooth, gentle transition into your care.

Botanical Profile & Care

A celebrated botanical gem that holds legendary status among bloom and foliage enthusiasts. Discovered in the warm, humid jungles of Perak, Malaysia, this species earned the affectionate collector moniker "Teddy Bear" thanks to its adorable, exceptionally fuzzy, and heavily pubescent flowers. Morphologically published as Hoya peninsularis, it features thick, durable leaves mapped with attractive, darker green venation. Because wild imports are notoriously sensitive to root stress, this specimen has been meticulously rooted and fully stabilized in our coarse, high-aeration mix to ensure strong vigor from day one. Established and hardened off in our signature coarse precision substrate, this plant arrives healthy, securely anchored, and ready to climb.

• Foliage: Thick, leathery ovate-elliptic leaves with prominent dark etched venation and a subtle waxy sheen.

• Blooms: Highly photogenic, fuzzy plush-textured star flowers with a prominent contrasting corona and gentle sweet scent.

• Light: Bright, indirect light to encourage steady vine maturity and stimulate peduncle formation; protect from harsh, scorching midday sun.

• Substrate: Potted in our signature Hoyaland Precision Mix (Kiwi bark, tree fern fibre, pumice, Akadama, and sphagnum) to maximize root aeration.

• Water: Prefers moderate, consistent moisture with excellent airflow; allow the top 40% of the substrate to dry between waterings, avoiding standing water.

• 1-of-1 Guarantee: The plant pictured is the exact specimen you will receive.

Why You’ll Love It

• Coveted Hybrid Parentage: A premier, deliberate cross pairing two heavyweight veined species—Hoya finlaysonii and Hoya meredithii.

• Tapered, Pointed Foliage: Distinct from sister hybrid 'Larisa' (which features softer, rounded apexes), 'Irina' exhibits elegant, elongated leaf tips with a sharper, tapered profile.

• High-Contrast Geometric Venation: Produces firm, cardboard-thick leaves mapped with a network of stark, dark green to near-black etched lattice veins across a lighter lamina.

• Robust, Steady Climber: Famed for its vigorous constitution, happily pushing sturdy climbing vines that anchor readily onto trellises and climbing poles.

• Queensland Grown: Established locally in our precision substrate to support a smooth, gentle transition into your care.

Botanical Profile & Care

An ultra-rare botanical masterpiece combining two of the most iconic veined taxa in the genus. Hoya 'Irina' captures the best foliar attributes of Hoya finlaysonii and Hoya meredithii, producing thick, rigid, leathery leaf plates defined by deeply sculpted, geometric venation. Unlike 'Larisa', 'Irina' is recognized by its sharper, elegantly tapered leaf apexes. To preserve its high-contrast, saturated emerald veining and avoid light-induced foliar bleaching, grow 'Irina' in strong indirect lighting rather than scorching direct sun. Grown and hardened off in our signature coarse precision substrate, this established specimen arrives sturdy, healthy, and actively climbing.

• Foliage: Thick, cardboard-firm leaves with tapered tips and pronounced dark green geometric lattice veining.

• Growth Habit: Robust and vigorous twining climber; thrives when guided up a trellis or bamboo support.

• Light: Bright, indirect light; best positioned out of intense direct sun to preserve vivid, high-contrast foliar green tones.

• Substrate: Potted in our signature Hoyaland Precision Mix (Kiwi bark, tree fern fibre, pumice, Akadama, and sphagnum).

• Water: Allow the top 50% of the substrate to dry out between thorough waterings.

• 1-of-1 Guarantee: The plant pictured is the exact specimen you will receive.

Why You’ll Love It

• Elite Pedigree Pairing: A deliberate hybrid marrying two titans of the veined Hoya world—Hoya finlaysonii and Hoya meredithii.

• Rounded Leaf Tip Morphology: Unlike its sibling hybrid Hoya 'Irina', 'Larisa' produces foliage with noticeably rounder, softer leaf apexes rather than narrow, sharp points.

• Vivid Sunstressing Capabilities: While 'Irina' tends to wash out and pale under high light, 'Larisa' rewards bright exposure with gorgeous, rich bronze, copper, and ruby sunstress tones across the leaf plate.

• Heavy Geometric Lattice Venation: Features thick, cardboard-like leaf substance etched with prominent, dark green structural veins running across a lighter green matrix.

• Queensland Grown: Established locally in our custom coarse precision mix to support a smooth, gentle transition into your care.

Botanical Profile & Care

A masterclass in veined hybrid breeding. Hoya 'Larisa' combines the legendary traits of Hoya finlaysonii and Hoya meredithii, delivering rigid, cardboard-thick foliage with deeply sculpted, high-contrast lattice venation. When compared to sister cross Hoya 'Irina', 'Larisa' is easily distinguished by its rounder leaf tips and its exceptional reaction to strong light—where 'Irina' bleaches or washes out, 'Larisa' blushes into rich, saturated bronze and crimson hues. Climbing with strong, eager tendrils, it anchors firmly to trellises to create a striking architectural display. Acclimated and hardened off in our signature coarse precision substrate, this established specimen arrives healthy, well-rooted, and actively pushing new leaves.

• Foliage: Thick, leathery, rounded-oval leaves featuring deeply carved dark green lattice veins, rounded tips, and dramatic bronze-to-red sunstressing.

• Light: Bright, indirect light to gentle direct morning sun; handles high light effortlessly to develop its signature sunstressed blushing without washing out.

• Round, Chubby Cuteness: Inherits the dense, succulent-like thickness of H. kerrii blended with the smoother, rounded curves of H. erythrina, producing delightfully plump, chubby leaves with irresistible tactile presence.

• Fast & Vigorous Hybrid Growth: Skips the notoriously slow, stubborn pace of standard H. kerrii—this hybrid pushes active vines and new leaf nodes with remarkable speed and enthusiasm.

• Exceptional Durability: The heavy-gauge foliage stores moisture effortlessly, making it a forgiving, low-maintenance option for beginners and seasoned collectors alike.

• Charming Trellis Presence: Thrives as an upright climber, filling out hoops or trellises with tidy tiers of thick, coin-to-paddle shaped pads.

• Queensland Grown: Established locally in our precision substrate to support a smooth, gentle transition into your care.

Botanical Profile & Care

A match made in hybrid heaven. Hoya cv. Rhiannon pairs the beloved heart-leaf succulent Hoya kerrii with the textured Bornean climber Hoya erythrina. The result is a standout foliar cultivar defined by plump, delightfully chubby leaves that boast cardboard-thick substance and soft, rounded contours. Best of all, it eliminates the agonizingly slow growth habit of kerrii, adopting the vigorous, free-climbing momentum of erythrina. Grown and hardened off in our signature coarse precision substrate, this established specimen arrives sturdy, well-rooted, and actively pushing new growth.

• Foliage: Thick, succulent, rounded-to-obovate plump leaves with smooth margins and substantial leaf gauge.

• Growth Habit: Vigorous, twining climber that eagerly wraps around a trellis or support hoop.

• Light: Bright, indirect light to gentle direct morning sun to keep foliage plump, compact, and structurally dense.

• Substrate: Potted in our signature Hoyaland Precision Mix (Kiwi bark, tree fern fibre, pumice, Akadama, and sphagnum).

• Water: Allow the top 50–60% of the substrate to dry out between thorough waterings; highly drought-resilient thanks to thick foliage.

• 1-of-1 Guarantee: The plant pictured is the exact specimen you will receive.
